Hollywood Glam #MOTD

Hello Beauty and Style Darlings… Happy May!

This is the face I make when I am headed to work and a train moving approximately two miles an hour blocks me from Starbucks at 7 am.  Tragic BUT still fabulous!

It has been a whirlwind at school with standardized testing starting today!  It is official, the school year is coming to a close.  In an effort to finish strong I have not devoted as much time to blog…which changes today.  Ready or not, Summer is (almost) here!

I posted about my silver skirt already (Here) and so today’s post is really more about the makeup.

I have been obsessed with highlighter lately and so I wanted to change it up.  I am using almost all matte finish products to create a classic old Hollywood look for a day of teaching students about Apartheid.

I am wearing Murad C Day Cream on my skin.  I use most days and like the way it leaves my skin looking and feeling. I have been using this Dr. Denese eyecream before applying my IT concealer under my eyes.

img_5526  Next I am wearing two drugstore foundations.  First I applied Maybelline Dream Wonder mostly on my forehead and cheeks. Next I added Dream Matte to add more coverage and matification on my nose, middle of my forehead and chin.

On my cheeks I am wearing a light dusting of Tarte bronzer which has no shimmer and blends well to give the illusion of sunkissd cheeks minus the highlight and sparkle.  Last but not least to set I am using It pressed poreless powder.

The only place I used just a touch of highliter is for my lip.  After I apply a dab of Watts Up Benefit Highlighter stick to the cupids bow I use my pinky to gentry blend up.  I am wearing NYX lipstick in Crave (Also wore here and here)  Its a perfect pop of color!

Surprise! I have a new favorite mascara!  It is called Bad Gal Bang and it provides a nice fring-y defined look.  I was not a huge fan of the original Bad Gal Lash but have found that I really like this one!  Have you tried it yet?  For my eyeliner I am wearing Stila liquid liner which is just about all gone.  I have liked it but I think I will likely try a different formula when it is time to replace.  It can make a very fine line and I like the slimness of the pencil in general.  I used a bt more of the Tarte bronzer as eye shadow to define the crease of my eyes.

Here is a picture of my fabulous, interesting and beautiful neighbor teacher!  I love working among a community of amazing women.  Oh the places we will go…the minds we will impact…AND the glam shots we will take!

I hope you are spending some time taking care of yourself and doing the things that make you feel amazing.  Whatever it is that makes you feel wonderful, do more of that!

Sending love to you and yours in Sunny Summerville SC,
