Hello Beauty and Style Lovers,

Here in sunny Summerville there are only two days left of school until our Winter Break officially begins!  Our house is (almost) ready for guests, and Elsa and Enzo are getting excited for Santa.  My students are doing their best to stay productive, but let’s be honest, everyone has that magical feeling that an approaching break from school always brings.

The Summerville Christmas Parade was last Sunday and our quaint little town is looking even more like the inside of a snow globe (Without the snow!)

Our Summerville Christmas Tree and Town Hall are inviting and festive this time of year.
The little white lights that cover the trees lining Main Street are still lit and looking beautiful in the early morning on my ride in to school.

Our Joyful Home

Our house is looking festive with some extra holiday touches.

Little touches make me smile.  When I look at the little blonde skating angel I think of my Mom, and the Gondola with skis my brother in Colorado.  The Gold and beaded fruit accents remind me of my Grandmother Elizabeth, and the Christmas mice bring me back to my Aunt Sarah who has quite the mouse collection.   Everything displayed this year has a story, and I love that!

Our Family Tree

Our family tree is topped with the J that topped our wedding cake and adorned with pink and red “Shatterproof” (aka Plastic!).  The good news is that we don’t have to gate it off now that our little ones are toddlers.

Our Bedroom

Our walls are painted a deep shade of blue which contrasts well with metallic and jewel tones.  Gold, copper and Green are the colors I added to sprinkle in some Christmas magic.  I found this gold and white sleigh which reminds me of a small white and gold porcelain tree that my Auntie Helen displayed on her buffet during the holidays.  Unless my mind is playing tricks on my it spun and played music when wound.

We also have a small white tree with Gold and Light Pink bulbs and white lights.

Our Southern Porches

Decorating the porches proved too tiring for Hazel (Our Hippo), who decided to snuggle up with some ribbon for a long winter’s nap.

Rather than putting quantity over quality I used small touches that add just enough sparkle.  Our palms are lit with small white tights and single white candle lights sit in each window.

Enzo’s tree on the porch (Outside of his window) is a rustic woodland theme.

Elsa’s Bedroom and Tree

In Elsa’s Room a small pink tinsel tree is decorated with pink lights and ornaments collected especially for her since before she was born!  The first ornaments it held were the barbie ornaments (Once a christmas gift for me) and two pairs of little baby shoes that my sister sent to us when I found out it was a girl! She is starting to get quite an ornament collection that (I hope) will someday adorn her first Christmas Trees when she moves out of our home to create her own.

Enzo’s Room

Enzo’s room is decorated in a vintage theme, I added a touch or two of holiday whimsy to celebrate the season.

Sometimes the anticipation is as good as the vacation!  I will be sure to share more soon.

What style, colors, and touches did you add to your collection this year?
