I haven’t quite wrapped my head around the millions of teacher things on my “To Do” list and have decided to take a break for a quick post. On a side note I am loving all of the people (including students)! On another side note, my feet hurt.
Today is Wednesday “Den Day” at school which means that we meet with a small group of students of varying grade levels for some team and character building, and also to share (distribute and collect) any essential pieces of information. In addition to this small group, all “Dens” are divided into three “houses” and each has a color.
These houses are tied into our Positive Behavior System which hosts many friendly competitions. (Recognition is earned by both teachers and children.) On our first day back during a training I noticed some teachers were wearing shirts with sparkly letters that said: “On Wednesdays we wear Green.” While I understood the Mean Girls reference, I had no idea what they were for! Now I know it is “House Spirit!” Why not, I say go along with it and have fun! Also, the kids will do what we do, so if we are lame they will be lame, which is just sad.
The Corbetti house color is “red” and on Wednesday we are all encouraged to wear our house color. Our students do not wear uniforms, and I was excited to see many of them chose to represent their house today!
When I came home and grabbed the mail I found my Sephora Play box for August, and it happened to match my outfit!
I will share my thoughts about these products as soon as I test them out!
I love the science theme!
These were the samples that I received in this month’s Innovators Play Box. For some reason they sent very dark shades (Warm and Golden Almond) concealer and foundation so I am pretty sure those won’t work for me. Boo! I have been eyeing stick foundations lately, specifically by Nars and Makeup Forever. I will keep you posted!
Sending Love to you and yours from sunny Summerville SC,
